I came across a humble little thing, demure and apologetic,

Looking as if it had grown out of the earth, ripping the turf away as the thatch evolved.

Hinged and pegged, with a warp and weft coat embracing the mortice and tenon.

Its ancient oaks self soothing amongst the modern pokes of a carpenters chisel.
