A nod to Banister Fletcher.

Built as a place to project the sound of the bells, perhaps - or as a defensive, observational measure. For me, they are something more than that - a fulcrum for the church - a place to show pride of place and project the ideals of the community.

Like every human endeavour, church towers are layered in meaning. Each on is an individual reflection of national or local styles, themes and symbols.

The towers here are listed from earliest to latest. I will add more as time goes by.
