Come along from your armchair.

I’ll be travelling in Woody, visiting four churches rescued by the Friends of Friendless Churches and the places between them.

Open the map, wander through the photographs and pause over the discoveries that stop me in my tracks.

Follow the line. Find the unexpected.

Sacred springs and hidden faces. Four remarkable churches brought back to life, and all the buildings, landscapes and everyday encounters that lie between them.

There is always another story.

A painted face emerging from the plaster. The presence of an old church. The stories that come into view when we slow down and look. These photographs offer a taste of the discoveries I hope to share with you.

Alongside the churches, there will be the life between the stops: Woody parked for the night, a cafe or pub along the way, and the changing landscapes outside the window.
