As the world turns and the seasons change, I’d like to invite you a little further into the world of the Genius Loci Digest - with a new, more visual and interactive way of engaging with the digest.

I’ve been developing new ways for you to explore my photography, follow my journeys and make discoveries of your own. It’s about bringing you closer to the places I encounter in Woody - and giving you more freedom to wander through the photographs, stories and connections that emerge along the way.

One example is my new Photographic Atlas (shared with you this coming Friday) from my recent walk along Offa’s Dyke. It offers a glimpse of a new experience for all digest subscribers which will be used for other journeys:

Coming This Autumn

Over the coming season, I’ll be out and about in Woody - exploring more corners of the British Isles, continuing my art projects and following themed journeys through Britain. I’ll be sharing the places, encounters and discoveries along the way, with new ways of bringing you (and a bit more light!) into the experience.

But behind everything I’m making is a purpose that hasn’t changed.

I keep returning to Michael Ventura’s words in The Age of Endarkenment: “cleave to what we find most beautiful in our human heritage - and pass it on”.

That gets close to what I’m trying to do through the Digest. To share the remarkable beauty and distinctiveness of Britain, its heritage and culture. To offer another way of finding value in a world that so often seems driven by the bottom line.

For me, this is personal. Photography and the places I’ve encountered have helped me find a life well lived after breakdown and depression. Looking at things differently has changed far more than my photographs - it has changed how I experience the world. I hope that some of that possibility comes through in what I share with you.

Membership helps sustain this work and contributes to my income as a professional photographer. It also helps me give something back - including free photography for heritage places and the people keeping traditional skills alive.
