Beyond the building.
Into colour.

Here, we move into the realm of colour shift. Cool blue shadow gives way to pale stone, gold and ember. From a distance, the cathedral becomes a tapestry of light. Come closer and its familiar face returns.

In my words.

With Wells 1000, I’ve moved into the realm of colour shift. The individual views become so small that the eye begins to gather them into something else, a gradual movement from blue shadow to the last glow of the day.

What is fascinating to me is how the great massing of a cathedral has become prismatic. Within each small image is the same cathedral, with its own carvings, shadows and signs of life. An apparently abstract field is still full of place.

Seen with Wells 9 and Wells 100, it becomes a journey from the macrocosm to the microcosm, and back again. The whole draws you in; the small rewards your attention. Three scales, three ways of looking, one changing light.

There’s a little of how I see the world in every photograph and artwork here. I’d love you to find one that feels at home with you.

Before you choose.
